What is Multiple Sclerosis?

MS is a chronic demyelinating neurological condition that can present with many symptoms.  The effects of MS will impact on different people in different ways, and symptoms can fluctuate, change and reoccur over time.

  • The most common symptoms of MS are:

  • Fatigue and weakness

  • Visual disturbances

  • Changes in mobility and function

  • Bladder & bowel issues

  • Speech impairments

  • Cognitive changes

  • Pain

  • Stiffness

  • Sensitivity to temperature change and heat

These symptoms can affect the way we carry out our daily routines and activities. Therefore, it is essential your health professionals understand your condition and work together with you to understand the impact it has on your life and to plan appropriate treatment to meet your goals. 

Neuro Junction offers clinic based and community rehabilitation in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.  Your therapist/s will complete standardised and functional assessments to better understand your needs, and will design a specific treatment plan to meet your individual goals.

Treatment approaches for MS maybe clinic, home or community based to maximise your potential to gain the most out of your therapies.
