It's OT (Occupational Therapy) Week!

This week is OT week where our team at Neuro Junction join with many others across Australia to celebrate the meaningful impact that Occupational Therapists have on so many people’s lives every day.

What do our OTs do at Neuro Junction?

 Our OTs work in rehabilitation for people who live with neurological conditions such as stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, MS, and Parkinson’s disease.

They work with clients to help them achieve their goals and return to activities which they would like to return to or keep participating in their daily lives.

What are the different interventions?

Thinking and perception:

  • Difficulty with Attention, memory, problem solving.

  • Adapting to visual and spatial difficulties/changes.

 Psychological and Emotional Wellbeing:

  • Adjustment to life following neurological illness or injury.

  • Providing education and coping strategies along your journey.

 Adapting your environments:

  • Recommendations for assistive technology, splints, or equipment.

  • Home and Workplace assessments

 The Goals of OT input:

  • Promotion of functional independence and increasing of quality of life.

  • Supporting return to work, leisure and community participation.

  • Empowering clients to achieve engagement in day to day activities.
